i’d actually pay for manicures!

…works of piety and charity… are necessary in this present life for as long as inequality prevails. Their workings here would not be required were it not for the superabundant numbers of the poor, the needy, and the sick… As long as this inequity rages in the world, these good works will be necessary and valuable to anyone practicing them and they shall yield the reward of an everlasting inheritance to the man of good heart and concerned will.

We have come to believe in God’s love: in these words the Christian can express the fundamental decision of his life. Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.

Gypsy Vanner. Probably my new favorite breed. Amazingly beautiful.

I am so tired of horse blogs referring to these overrated, overpriced furry beasts as “Gyspy Vanners”. That G word is a slur against Roma people and the name “G— Vanner” won out over more appropiate names (like Irish Cob, for example) to better market the furballs to gullible Americans who leap to pay $10k+ more for a romantic and whimsical name. Why someone would pay so much money for hair is beyond me.

note-a-bear:

OMG, this was absolutely brilliant.

Although this is an amazing song I can’t help feeling the lyric ‘O Gabriel, let me blow your horn!’ may have a certain kind of subtext.
